Important Rcon Commands
Below are some of the most commonly used rcon commands for 'steam' based games such as Counter-Strike:Source and so on. In order to issue any command you must authenticate to rcon first by correctly inputting the rcon password, failure to supply the correct password several times may result in getting banned from the server’s rcon. These are only a small portion of the rcon commands available for Valve/Steam based games, however in most cases these are the commands most commonly used.
rcon_password
This command allows you to authenticate to the server in order to start using rcon. An example of this would be say rcon_password whatever. If it fails to authenticate you will receive an error message of some sorts, once you're logged into rcon you can begin to issue other commands.
rcon exec
The rcon exec command is perhaps one of the most used among competitive gamers, this command allows you to execute configuration files in the servers CFG folder. For example to execute the CAL live on three scripts one would type: rcon exec lo3
rcon changelevel
This allows you to change the level to another map, keep in mind that the map must be installed and when issuing this command you must use the proper map name an example would be: rcon changelevel de_dust2
rcon mp_restartgame
This commands allows you to restart the round so that the current round ends and everyone will re-spawn. The only option is for the length of time in seconds, for example if you wanted to restart in five seconds you would issue: rcon mp_restartgame 5
rcon status
This allows you to see who is currently playing in the server along with information about each player (steamID, user#, IP Address).
rcon kickid
This allows you to kick a player from the server using there individual userID# from rcon status. If for example the user is ID# 13 you would type: rcon kickid 13
rcon banid
Bans player. Format rcon banid . Example: rcon banid 20 STEAM_X:X:XXXX (Bans player for 20 minutes)
rcon say
This command allows you to send text to all players currently in the game server, an example of using this command would be: rcon say "Is everyone ready?"
rcon quit
Restarts game server
rcon _restart
Quickly restarts game server
rcon exit
Restarts game server
